GH Public Hospital District #2 and Harbor Regional Health Welcomes Edward Welter to the Board

Grays Harbor Public Hospital District #2 and Harbor Regional Health Welcomes Edward Welter to the Board of Commissioners 

ABERDEEN, WA — Public Hospital District #2 Commissioners interviewed two candidates for Position 2, which was left vacant following the passing of Michael Bruce. During the regular Board Meeting on September 23, 2025, Edward Welter of Westport was appointed to represent Position 2 for the remainder of this year. The position will be on the ballot in the November general election for the full term beginning January 1, 2026. 

“The Board was very pleased with the response and the quality of applicants to fill this vacancy,” said Christopher Thomas, Board Chair. “We look forward to working with Ed and are grateful for his willingness to serve and the many talents he brings to the Board.” 

Mr. Welter brings a wealth of experience in public administration, currently serving as Mayor of Westport as well as a Grays Harbor County Sheriff’s Deputy. He has expressed a strong desire to help the District grow and to serve the community. 

Mr. Welter was sworn in on October 28, 2025, and is running for election to the Hospital Board in November.
