Description
If there’s anything that can make fresh seafood even better, it’s good wine! Head to the award-winning resort town of Seabrook, on Washington’s Coast, May 5th for the 8th Annual Savor Seabrook Seafood & Wine Festival to sample the best of land and sea and enjoy a gorgeous day at Washington’s Beach Town. Here are the top four reasons why you should be there: Reason #1: Good wine Savor Seabrook features a dozen Washington wineries pouring some of their best stuff. The festival presents a great chance to taste with an idyllic coastal backdrop of crashing waves and sandy shore. Admission (just $20 at the door) includes a tasting glass and ten sampling tickets. A few of the wineries in attendance include: * DeLille Cellars * Novelty Hill-Januik * Maryhill * Otis Kenyon * Chateau Ste. Michelle Oenophiles can swing into Seabrook’s darling wine and cheese shop, The Stowaway, to have a seat at the bar and enjoy a glass (we’re a big fan of the Red Mountain AVA-sourced Fidelitas 40/40 Red Blend) while snacking on tasty cheese and charcuterie. Then, snag a bottle or two and enjoy at home. Reason #2: Great food Seafood tastes best when you’re at the beach! The area’s best restaurants will cook up fresh seafood for you to enjoy. Take your time tasting offerings from popular eateries including Rediviva, Frontager’s Pizza Co., Mill 109, and Gourmondo Co. The tasting menu includes: * Freshly shucked oysters * Wood-fired seafood pizzas * Dungeness crab chermoula soup * Razor clam tiritas * Mesquite smoked salmon skewers and more! Reason #3: Live Music + Top Rated Beach = A Perfect Romantic Getaway What do you get when you combine wine, seafood and live music? The perfect romantic getaway. Serenade your loved one with the musical stylings of Ericka Corban, who you might have heard on The Voice, as well as Shannon DeLong & Daniel Walker, Sarah Gerritsen & the Shadow Catchers and Old Coast. Afterward, treat yourselves to a relaxing massage at Spa Elizabeth. And for the ultimate beach town memory, take that sunset stroll along the sandy beach you’ve been dreaming about. We suggest a beachside picnic with a boxed lunch from Red Velvet Bakery or Front Street Market. Reason #4: It’s a chance to get outside Park the car and walk. Or better yet, ride in style with a comfy beach cruiser from Buck’s Bikes. Designed around the concept of a five-minute walk, Seabrook is built around environmentally-conscious trails that weave through wind-sculpted spruce promenades and cozy cottage homes to reach communal areas and local merchants like SeaWorthy Home, The Salty Dog, Sweet Life candy and ice cream, and Imagine That! Pottery and Painting Studio. The gorgeous sandy beach is the main draw, but amenities like the central amphitheater, oceanfront parks, playgrounds, fire pits, tennis courts and horseshoe pits round out the experience.
